Chargers Come to Terms With Dwight Freeney

After being a free agent for months, former Indianapolis Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney has found a new home. Freeney has come to terms with the San Diego Chargers on a two year deal. The deal is worth $8.75 million.

"It's great to add a solid veteran who brings valuable experience to our defense," said Chargers coach Mike McCoy. "His proven pass-rush ability is a perfect fit for our defense."

Chargers second year linebacker Melvin Ingram tore his anterior cruciate ligament in practice on Tuesday. This made the Chargers' need of a pass rusher even more desperate.
