Brady Quinn and Seattle Seahawks Agree to Terms

After spending quite some time searching for a capable backup for Russell Wilson, the Seattle Seahawks have finally decided on Brady Quinn.

After trading Matt Flynn to the Oakland Raiders, they were left with Josh Portis—and all zero of his career NFL snaps—as the only QB on the roster besides Wilson.

There have been several intriguing names thrown around in the past week. But after passing on guys like Tim Tebow and Matt Leinart, the Seahawks settled on Quinn.

In eight starts with the Kansas City Chiefs last season, the former Notre Dame star compiled a record of 1-7. He completed 56.9 percent of his passes for 1,141 yards, two touchdowns and eight interceptions. When all was said and done, he had a mediocre QB rating of 60.1 and a QBR of 27.4.

Quinn has spent five NFL seasons with three different teams, thrown 12 touchdowns to 17 interceptions and has just four wins in 20 total starts.

But if Quinn ends up playing Flynn's 2012 role (nine pass attempts in three games), the only thing that will matter is his ability to hold on to a clipboard.

Nevertheless, while Wilson is a budding superstar, he has a skill set that can leave him vulnerable in the open field every once in a while. Finding a backup who at least has on-field experience was something the Seahawks wanted to do as soon as possible.
